Pierre D'Avesn Art Deco French Glass Plafonnier
Diameter: 16 inches
From the estate of my aunt, who passed away 2005. The glass plate itself is in excellent condition. Slight chipping around fixture holes (second image) probably from attaching and re-attaching. Also, some dirt has settled in the "P. D'AVESN" emblem. Estimated market value 7,000 - 8000 USD. Please ask if you have any questions.
VERY NICE INDUSTRIAL AGE ADJUSTABLE DESK LAMP. IT IS MADE GOLD PAINTED CAST METAL. IT MEASURES FROM THE BOTTOM TO THE "ELBOW" 8" FROM THE ELBOW TO THE END OF THE LIGHT HOOD IT MEASURES ABOUT 7 1/2". THE BOTTOM IS WEIGHTED NICELY SO IT IS STUDY AND STABLE. IT HAS AN ELBOW JOINT WITH A WING NUT THAT ADJUSTS THE ANGLE OF THE LIGHT. THE LIGHT HOOD ROTATES TO FURTHER DIRECT THE LIGHT. THE BOTTOM OF THE LIGHT HAS SOME INCISED WORDS. "LIGHTOLIER CO. PAT. APPLIED FOR." ALSO ON THE BOTTOM OPPOSITE THE OTHER WORDS. "C1392 FITS M.199" A BIT ABOUT THE COMPANY LIGHTOILER...IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1904 AN KNOWN FOR THEIR STYLE AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN. THIS MAY BE ONE OF THEIR EARLIEST LAMPS!
CONDITION:
THIS LAMP IS IN VERY GOOD OVERALL CONDITION. THERE IS SOME WEAR APPROPRIATE WITH AGE AS SHOWN IN THE PHOTOS. THERE IS SOME AINT FLAKES ON THE BASE, NOTHING MAJOR. THE LIGHT DOES WORK, THERE IS SOME WHITE PAINT ON THE LIGHT HOOD. I DID NOT TRY TO CLEAN IT.
"BOUDOIR" LAMP
The perfect size for a Vanity, Bedside Table or Desk - a Lovely Accent Piece
The original frosted glass shade is reverse painted by hand with blue and white flowers and green leaves that resemble Forget-Me-Nots! The shade has a very pale lavender hue to the glass - it is a little over 6.5" in diameter and 5.25" high - numbered at the top: 700-248. It has a "pebbly" finish on the edges - not damage but the way it was made.
Excellent, vintage condition!
The cast iron base is painted black with gold trim. It has some minor wear and chipping of the paint. The 4" diameter base is marked: MADE IN U.S.A. No. 163. The wiring appears safe and the lamp works properly.
